Christmas!

We have had the most blessed Christmas this year! We got to go to Abilene for a few days to visit my family and a few friends. We had such a great time and were blessed with great gifts and love! I hate living so far from my family, but it's great that Dustin and I get to be closer to his family for a while. We got back to Monroe on Friday, and Saturday we had Christmas at Dustin's step-sister's house and then his Dad's and again we were so blessed! Sunday we got to go to a great worship service at church and then had Christmas with Dustin's sister and mom's family. Although it's been a busy, traveling past week, we couldn't have asked for a better one.

Today we got to just chill and clean a little and got out of the house for a bit. Dustin has discovered his dream to own a Jeep, so we went and test drove one today to see if he'd actually like driving it. Of course, he did. So now he wants one even more, but it will definitely be a while before that happens.
I have 2 interviews on Wednesday, and I would really appreciate your prayers. Neither job is one I'd really love, but any job right now is just fine with me! We're hoping to be able to pay off as much as we can on our student loans and save a lot for a house one day..so any job would be appreciated! Well, gotta go make a grocery list...we have NO food after being gone for a week! Love you all!

wizoww. i suck at blogging.

seriously I am obviously no good at this! i keep forgetting to blog! Since the last post, we've been home to Abilene and back for Thanksgiving, had tons going on here at home, and still do! Dustin and I have both been sick the past few days..him with bronchitis and I've had just a regular old cold. We're both doing much better, but now I gotta book it this week to get all our Christmas presents done! I'm making most of our presents this year..at least for the adults..and sewing takes a while! But I know it will be worth it in the end. We're going back to Abilene this next Sunday to spend a few days there to have Christmas with my family, and we'll make it back to Monroe before Christmas eve!
We got our first Christmas tree as a married couple! It's pretty cute. We got a few ornaments, and then Dustin's step-mom bought us some more last week that I haven't had time to put on yet...hopefully I'll get to in the next day or so!
LouLou has been SO good the past few days! She's finally started going to the door when she needs to use the restroom..now all we need is for her to whine or bark so we can hear her if we're in a different room. Maybe a bell on the door handle would work? LouLou doesn't bark much unless someone is at the door or right outside our house..which is definitely a good thing. It's been really funny though because there's a commercial on TV that has a doorbell and she barks and goes to the door every time it comes on. Which is also kinda weird because we don't have a doorbell so I don't know how she knows that it's the door?! She's so smart!
Everything has been really good here..just busy as usual and I would still love it if ya'll could pray for me a job! My dream one is available..and I interviewed, but we're still waiting to hear back so please pray for me! We've got a very busy few days ahead again so I better get back to sewing! Love you all! And I'll try to start being better at blogging! :)

The Biedenharn Museum

So again I have been SO slow in blogging! Sorry! :( Let's see...Last Friday Dustin and I got to have a date and went to the Biedenharn Museum which includes a Coke, Bible, and Biedenharn home museum, and also some beautiful gardens you get to walk through and enjoy. I'll put some pictures up at the end of the post! I got to teach the youth Sunday school class last Sunday and I think it went pretty well, but I was a little sickly so I know it wasn't my best!
This week we had our Thanksgiving dollar lunch and got to serve about 125 people! It was so good! We got to eat over at a couple's house, Ms. Judy & Mr. Ken, and they were so sweet! We had a lot of fun! Then on Thursday we got to go see the new Twilight with a few people from the youth and college group at midnight which was great and a lot of fun besides the fact I had an interview on Friday morning! Ah! haha It was with CASA and it's for pretty much my dream job. The interview went very well, I'm not sure it could have gone much better, so please pray that God would open the door there if that's His will for me. I would LOVE it there! I know we've been so busy doing other things, but I can't remember them all!
We get to go to Abilene tomorrow till Thursday after lunch and I am so excited! I've missed my family so much and I can't wait to see them and their newly remodeled house and of course eat some yummy food! :) Anyway here are some pictures now.....LOVE YOU ALL!

I'm so bad at blogging!

Ok, sorry I've been so bad at blogging already! I'm the worst! But, just to put in a little excuse, we have been SO busy still! A few weekends ago we had a fall festival at one of the church member's lake house. It was a lot of fun, and I had my first experience with an alligator! I was SO scared!! :) I dressed up as a peacock and Dustin was a redneck break-dancer or something like that. I also got to make some fun Halloween desserts that were super yummy!

We've had fun getting to know people and making new friends and we're really looking forward to continuing to do that. We have several trips coming up for youth and college, so I know we will continue to be busy with all of that.

I had an interview this past Thursday, but I'm not for sure it's somewhere I would actually like to work, so we'll see how it turns out. I'm still looking for a job, so please continue to pray that God would provide me with something I enjoy and can still be very involved with the youth.  We also went to a needtobreathe concert recently that was a LOT of fun. We ran into them in the hall after the concert, and it was a little awkward and we didn't get to say anything because someone popped out and told us to turn around and go the other way. :( I've done a lot of sewing projects since I've been here making Halloween costumes and dresses for little girls in Haiti. Thanks mom for sending your sewing machine with me! LouLou has been pretty good, but she keeps getting sick and we don't know why. Hopefully her stomach will get straightened out soon! She loves when new people come over and plays until she collapses! Last night Dustin got the new call of duty game so I'm sure my life at home will pretty much consist of that for a while. Sorry this post took me so long to get up, and that it's so sporadic! Just wanted to try and catch every one up on some of the stuff we've been up to! :) Love you all!

1st Week Down!

Well, it's been right at a week since we've moved to Louisiana! I've been wanting to start a blog for a while, and thought this was the perfect opportunity to start one and keep everyone updated on our lives! We moved into a 2 bedroom apartment that's actually pretty spacious and cute. We still have a few boxes to unpack, and as soon as we do I can hopefully get some pictures up of everything!
Dustin has jumped right into his new position. We went to a college retreat this past weekend, which was a lot of fun, but also brought us a lot of soreness! So many bruises! He's also started working up at the office everyday, unpacking, reading, and preparing his lessons. Honestly, I've been a little bored and lost without a job! Please pray that I will find one soon that I enjoy, and will also give me the time off that I need to visit family and go on youth events.
Everyone has been so welcoming to us so far, and we're enjoying getting to meet new people and make some new friends. It's also been nice being so much closer to Dustin's family, but I also miss my family a lot. We'll just have to make lots of trips to see each other! I haven't had too much culture shock, just the fact that's it's been a lot cooler here than in Texas and I'm already cold natured! LouLou seems to like everything, but she's a little sick to her stomach today. She loves looking out the sliding glass door blinds and she has little patio area that she can go out on to.
We're looking forward to continuing on this journey together and we ask that you keep us in your prayers; we need them! Love you all!
